Das Prinzip der Klimaneutralität

Nachhaltigkeit und Klimaschutz sind auch für uns als Top Friseursalon in Esslingen wichtigen Themen. Deshalb versuchen wir als klimaneutraler Salon in Esslingen CO2-Emissionen weitgehend zu reduzieren. Jedoch können wir unsere Emissionen nicht auf null setzen, deshalb gleichen wir alles was übrig bleibt mit Hilfe von ClimatePartner aus.

Klimaneutral sind Unternehmen deren CO2-Emissionen berechnet und durch Unterstützung international anerkannter Klimaschutzprojekte ausgeglichen wurden. Der Ausgleich von CO2-Emissionen ist neben Vermeidung und Reduktion ein weiterer wichtiger Schritt im ganzheitlichen Klimaschutz. Treibhausgase verteilen sich gleichmäßig in der Atmosphäre, die Treibhausgaskonzentration ist somit überall auf der Erde in etwa gleich. Deshalb ist es unerheblich, an welchem Ort auf der Erde Emissionen verursacht oder vermieden werden. Emissionen, die lokal nicht vermieden werden können, können deshalb durch Klimaschutzprojekte an einem anderen Ort ausgeglichen werden.

Schutz für ein bedrohtes Stück Amazonas

Die Region Madre de Dios ist Teil des Vilcabamba-Amboró Korridors, einem der größten Gebiete mit der weltweit höchsten biologischen Vielfalt. Neben bedrohten Arten wie dem Mahagoni-Baum, Jaguar, Puma, Brüllaffen, Aras oder der Boa leben hier auch mehrere indigene, teils unkontaktierte Völker. Ihr wertvoller Lebensraum wird jedoch durch das Straßenbauprojekt Transamazônica quer durch Brasilien und Peru bedroht. Dieses begünstigt die Zuwanderung in das ökologisch sensible Gebiet und damit verbundene Entwicklungen wie Landbau und Viehzucht.

Das führt zu massiven Rodungen des Waldes, wie sich am fertigen Teil der Straße in Brasilien zeigt. Zahlreiche Widerstände, z.B. von Umwelt- und indigenen Gruppen konnten die Fertigstellung der peruanischen Teilstrecke bislang verhindern. 

Seit 2009 schützt das Klimaschutzprojekt von ClimatePartner ein 100.000 Hektar großes Gebiet und hilft den lokalen Gemeinden, es nachhaltig zu bewirtschaften.

Wie funktioniert Klimaschutz mit Waldschutz?

Wälder speichern CO2, tropische Wälder sogar besonders viel. Für anerkannte Klimaschutzprojekte gibt es drei Methoden, Wälder als CO2-Speicher zu schaffen oder zu erhalten: 1. Aufforstung und Wiederaufforstung; 2. Nachhaltige Waldbewirtschaftung: Es wird nur so viel Holz geerntet, wie auch wieder nachwachsen kann; und 3. einen finanziellen Anreiz zum Schutz der Wälder schaffen (sog. REDD+).

Somit setzen wir uns dafür ein, dass alle Treibhaugasemissionen, die durch unseren Service in unserem Salon und bei unserer täglichen Arbeit entstehen, durch die Investition in ein Klimaschutzprojekt ausgeglichen werden. Dazu befolgen wir die «9 goldenen Regeln für das Klima» als La Biosthetique Partner Salon und können so unsere gemeinsame Zukunft positiv mitgestalten und stolz sein, ein klimaneutraler Salon zu sein.
